I still can’t believe I was at his return game vs Leeds. I’m not even an Arsenal fan but got some free tickets from a family member who couldn’t make it so went on a whim and ended up witnessing history. Still shocks me every time I see it makes me just wonder how lucky that was to witness 😂.

Wenger lost pragmatism, despite financial constraints he didnt buy well in terms of goalkeepers and defenders, he didnt buy any ball winning midfielders and the team lacked height and athleticism which he could have combined with the technical quality he already had in the squad. He was very unlucky not to have 3 key players consistently available during the early Emirates era, Diaby, Rosicky and Van Persie - all 3 were injury prone but absolute difference makers.
